Rosy Patched Bush Shrike

The Rosy-patched Bushshrike (Rhodophoneus cruentus) is a species of bird in the Malaconotidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Rhodophoneus. It is found in Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan & Tanzania.Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry scrubland. The below picture was taken at the Mkomazi National Park (North Eastern Tanzania) on the border of Tsavo National Park (Kenya).

Emerald Season - Ruaha Jan & Feb 2012

For the 37 days i spent in Ruaha National Park at the Kwihala Camp - Jan & Feb '12, i was able to spot spectacular birds over 150 species. Some pictures are herewith attached. Although they are not excellent snaps, they will give you an idea how beautiful the emerald season in Ruaha is.
